Dictionary Project Flowers for Algernon

Students will be placed with a partner in order to complete this project.

Directions: Students will choose a word from the dictionary for each letter of the alphabet. (A-Z) The word chosen should be symbolic of an action, event, or characteristic of a character from Flowers for Algernon. Each entry should contain the word, pronunciation, part of speech, definition, and how it is related to the story. (The word does not have to be used in a sentence, but students should explain how it is related.) Pictures do not have to be included with every entry.

Example

shatter- (shāt'ər) verb To cause to break or burst suddenly into pieces, as with a violent blow.

The dishes shattered when the boy in the diner dropped them.
