Its registration time again and we have welcomed several new
students to Santa Anna ISD for the 2007/2008 school year. The
construction and renovations are finally finished and it will be
nice to start off the school year with things back to normal.
The Lady Mountaineer volleyball teams have already played several
games, and have three tournaments on the schedule during the month
of September. The girls’ teams are coached by Bob Libby and
Kristi Herrod. At present, there are 16 girls participating in the
volleyball program.
The Mountaineer football team has been working hard and is just
about to put a wrap on two-a-days. Their first game will be on the
31st of August against Coolidge. Coach Fields and Coach
Adams report that they currently have 22 players practicing. The
Mountaineers are picked by Dave Campbell’s football rating system
to make another playoff appearance in 07.
The Student Council sponsored several big events last year and I’m
sure Mrs. Walker has even bigger plans for 07/08, so be on the
lookout for lots of school activities.
We also have new cheerleader sponsors for the 2007/2008 school
year. The high school cheerleaders will be sponsored by Shannon
Herrod, and the junior high cheerleaders will be sponsored by Gay
Morgan.
We have three new teachers for the 07/08 school year. I believe
they will be great additions to an already strong teaching staff.

Mrs. Loftin and Mrs. Guerrero do a great job of posting events on
the website so visit often to see what’s coming in the future.
Please accept this invitation to come by and visit with any of our
staff concerning your child’s education. We are looking forward to
working with you.
